Qatar National Library hosts the exhibition “Georgian Cultural Heritage – Arabic Manuscripts from Georgia”
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the State of Qatar, the Qatar National Library hosts the exhibition “Georgian Cultural Heritage – Arabic Manuscripts from Georgia” organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Georgia to the State of Qatar and the Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts.
On 7 June 2023, the exhibition was officially opened by Ambassador of Georgia to the State of Qatar Nikoloz Revazishvili and Executive Director of Qatar National Library Tan Huism in the presence of the Senior Management of the QNL, Ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Qatar, as well as culture and heritage lovers, along with the representatives of Georgian diaspora in Qatar.
At the event, Georgia's diverse and rich cultural heritage, as well as the existence of unique Arabic manuscripts in Georgia were emphasized. The copies of more than 20 Georgian-Arabic manuscripts dating from 10th to early 20th centuries preserved in the Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts are presented to the public.
Following the opening event, the guests were invited to taste the Georgian cuisine.
The exhibition taking place on the main floor of QNL is open for the public and runs for one month.
