Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is presently participating in the high-level Qatar Economic Forum.
As part of his visit, the Prime Minister met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar.
The parties discussed the diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two countries, namely the issue of deepening Georgia’s trade and economic relations with the State of Qatar, the key priorities on the economic diplomacy agenda.
The Head of Georgian Government emphasized the important high-level exchange visits between the two countries across a variety of directions which, over the past few years, have had a positive impact in terms of bringing Georgia and the State of Qatar closer together and furthering their cooperation.
The parties expressed commitment to developing their close and friendly ties in every direction, including political, trade and economic, tourism, agricultural, educational, cultural, and other fields.
The Prime Minister thanked the Amir of Qatar for inviting him to the forum and, in turn, extended an invitation to visit Georgia.
