On November 8, 2019 the second round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Qatar was held in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Georgian side was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Khvtisiashvili and the Qatari Side by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Hassan Al-Hamadi.
The issues of common interests and the prospects for the further development of bilateral cooperation were reviewed during the meeting. The two parties noted with satisfaction the growing bilateral relations in every field and emphasized the progress achieved in the field economy. They welcomed expanding cooperation in the sphere of investments and tourism that additionally contributes to the deepening of people to people ties. The sides also outlined the importance of high-level visits between the two countries.
The Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili informed the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar on the human rights violations and humanitarian situation in Georgia's occupied territories and along the occupation line.
